Course Overview
The PG Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynecology is a specialized program designed for medical graduates seeking advanced knowledge and practical skills in women’s reproductive health. The course covers essential topics in prenatal care, labor and delivery, postnatal care, and gynecological disorders. Through a combination of theoretical study and hands-on clinical training, students are prepared to manage a wide range of obstetric and gynecological conditions, ensuring comprehensive care for women at all stages of life.
What you’ll learn
- Understand the comprehensive management of pregnancy, including routine check-ups, screening tests, and fetal monitoring.
- Gain expertise in managing normal and complicated deliveries, including the use of labor-inducing agents and techniques for operative deliveries such as cesarean sections.
- Learn to care for women after childbirth, focusing on recovery, breastfeeding support, and addressing postpartum complications.
- Diagnose and treat common gynecological issues such as menstrual disorders, infections, and pelvic pain.
- Develop skills in identifying and managing high-risk pregnancies, including preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and multiple gestations.
- Learn the indications, techniques, and postoperative care for common gynecological surgeries, such as hysterectomy, laparoscopy, and D&C (dilation and curettage).
