What you’ll learn
- Comprehensive understanding of hair structure, growth cycles, and the anatomy of the scalp.
- Skills in diagnosing hair loss conditions such as androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, and telogen effluvium.
- Expertise in medical treatments (e.g., minoxidil, finasteride) and cosmetic solutions (e.g., platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, hair transplants) for hair restoration.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and managing scalp conditions such as dandruff, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, and fungal infections.
- Understanding of disorders affecting the hair shaft, such as trichorrhexis nodosa and other structural abnormalities.
- Training in the role of nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle in maintaining healthy hair and scalp.
- Skills in counseling patients on the emotional impact of hair loss and providing compassionate care.
- Exposure to surgical hair restoration procedures such as follicular unit extraction (FUE) and follicular unit transplantation (FUT).
