Course Overview
A Fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology offers specialized training in diagnosing and managing hormonal disorders in children, including growth disorders, diabetes, thyroid issues, and metabolic diseases. The program focuses on both clinical and research aspects of pediatric endocrinology, equipping fellows with the knowledge and skills needed to provide advanced care for children with complex endocrine conditions.
What you’ll learn
- Mastery of diagnosing and treating conditions like short stature, growth hormone deficiency, and constitutional growth delay.
- Expertise in managing type 1 and type 2 diabetes in children, including insulin therapy, glucose monitoring, and long-term care.
- Training in diagnosing and treating pediatric thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and thyroid nodules.
- Proficiency in recognizing and managing conditions like congenital adrenal hyperplasia, Addison’s disease, and pituitary dysfunction.
- Skills in treating disorders of puberty, including precocious puberty, delayed puberty, and hormone imbalances.
- Knowledge of conditions affecting bone metabolism, such as rickets, osteoporosis, and vitamin D deficiencies in children.
- Experience in managing childhood obesity and associated metabolic disorders, with an emphasis on lifestyle modification and medical treatment.
