Course Overview
A Fellowship in Pediatric Echocardiography provides specialized training in the use of ultrasound to diagnose and monitor congenital and acquired heart conditions in infants, children, and adolescents. The program focuses on advanced echocardiographic techniques such as transthoracic, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiography. Fellows gain hands-on experience interpreting complex cardiac images, enhancing their skills in pediatric cardiac anatomy and function to provide accurate diagnoses and improve patient outcomes.
What you’ll learn
- Mastery of performing and interpreting TTE to assess cardiac anatomy, function, and hemodynamics in pediatric patients.
- Expertise in conducting TEE for intraoperative and diagnostic evaluations in complex congenital heart disease.
- Training in the use of pain medications such as opioids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), muscle relaxants, and adjuvant therapies.
- Skills in performing echocardiograms on fetuses to detect congenital heart defects early in pregnancy.
- In-depth understanding of the diagnosis and management of congenital heart diseases such as septal defects, valve abnormalities, and complex malformations.
- Proficiency in diagnosing cardiomyopathies and inflammatory heart conditions in children using echocardiographic techniques.
- Exposure to 3D echocardiography and Doppler techniques to assess blood flow and cardiac structures with high precision.
Eligibilty & Requirement
- MBBS/ MD/ MS/ DGO/ DNB/ Equivalent
- No previous experience is needed.
