Course Overview
A Fellowship in High-Risk Pregnancy provides advanced training in the management of pregnancies complicated by medical, surgical, or obstetric conditions. The program emphasizes the care of both mother and fetus, covering prenatal diagnosis, maternal-fetal medicine, and advanced obstetric procedures. Fellows gain hands-on experience in managing complex cases, including preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, preterm labor, and fetal abnormalities, preparing them for leadership roles in maternal-fetal medicine.
What you’ll learn
- Expertise in managing pregnancies affected by maternal conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and autoimmune diseases.
- Skills in performing and interpreting advanced prenatal tests such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and fetal ultrasound for detecting abnormalities.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and managing fetal conditions such as intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), congenital anomalies, and twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.
- Training in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of preterm labor and strategies to improve neonatal outcomes.
- Mastery of the management of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, including preeclampsia and eclampsia.
- Expertise in diagnosing and managing gestational diabetes to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.
- Skills in performing high-risk obstetric procedures such as cervical cerclage, fetal monitoring, and cesarean deliveries in complex cases.
