Course Overview
A Fellowship in GI Endoscopy provides advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders using endoscopic techniques. The program focuses on mastering procedures such as upper endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, and therapeutic interventions like polypectomy, stent placement, and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). Fellows gain hands-on experience in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, preparing them to manage a variety of GI conditions and perform minimally invasive procedures with precision.
What you’ll learn
- Mastery of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy.
- Skills in removing polyps, taking biopsies, and performing therapeutic interventions during endoscopic procedures.
- Training in the use of EUS for diagnosing and staging gastrointestinal cancers, as well as guiding therapeutic interventions.
- Learning techniques like banding, clipping, and cauterization to control GI bleeding during endoscopy.
- Experience in placing stents and dilating strictures to treat obstructions in the GI tract.
- Comprehensive understanding of managing conditions such as peptic ulcers, esophageal, inflammatory bowel disease, and gastrointestinal cancers.
- Hands-on training in ERCP to treat bile duct and pancreatic duct disorders.
- Best practices in sterilization, infection prevention, and ensuring patient safety during endoscopic procedures.
- Working closely with gastroenterologists, surgeons, and radiologists to provide comprehensive care for GI patients.
Eligibilty & Requirement
- MBBS/MD/MS/Equivalent
- No previous experience is needed.
